1. Zi Hale Museum

The Zi Hale Museum is part of a complex featuring several historical sites and exhibits where you will learn many new things regarding our local history. The friendly staff at Zi Hale is always ready to guide and show you around as you peruse artifacts from days gone by. You can find the Zi Hale Museum at 300 W. Dale St. in nearby Winters. 

2. Historical Miles Opera House & Museum

Formerly a local opera and playhouse built in 1904, the Miles Opera House & Museum was restored to become a meeting place with several rooms displaying artifacts from the early 20th century. Some artifacts inside the Miles Museum include a 6ft. pump organ, WW2 memorabilia, and a dollhouse village. The Historical Opera House & Museum is just a short drive to Miles at 201 N. Robinson St. 

3. Coleman Museum

The Coleman Museum is a local heritage museum and art gallery inside the beautiful Heritage Hall building. Some exhibits inside the Coleman Museum include rooms featuring antique toys, military memorabilia, and a pharmacy collection. Find the Coleman Museum with a short drive in your Chevy Malibu at 400 W. College Ave, in Coleman. 

4. Barrow Foundation Museum

The Barrow Foundation Museum features an extensive collection of artifacts and geological specimens from across the globe. At the Barrow Foundation Museum, you will also see antique farming equipment and cars. The museum grounds include several large buildings and the home of its founders, Earnest and Dorothy Barrow. You can find the Barrow Foundation Museum by driving to Private Rd.1459 in Paint Rock. 

5. Fort Chadbourne

Fort Chadbourne is a 19th-century US military fort that has been restored as a historical site and museum. At Fort Chadbourne, you will learn about local military history, the fort’s preservation story, and what it’s like to sit inside an authentic stagecoach. The fort’s kind museum owners are passionate about the museum and happy to be your guide while visiting. Fort Chadbourne is located at 651 Fort Chadbourne Rd. in Bronte and is open Tuesday through Saturday.
