The 2022 GMC Terrain is a compact crossover SUV, and the smallest vehicle in the GMC line, falling below the Acadia. With its second-generation debut in 2018, the Terrain was refreshed in 2022.
Although the smallest of GMC’s SUVs, the Terrain is still a roomy and comfortable vehicle, easily seating five people. Because it is a four-door vehicle, passengers may easily exit, and hauling and packing items for transport is easy, as well. With its gentle ride and solid handling, the Terrain is a vehicle any driver will enjoy.

New/Unique Features

Besides its affordability, the Terrain offers a better and more featured packed entry-level model. The SL trim model was eliminated, and the SLE model became standard. GMC introduced the AT4 model this year, a sportier off-the-road version of the Terrain. The 2.0L inline-four engine is gone, and the exterior has a new fresher look.

Engine and Performance

A turbocharged 1.5L inline-four engine with 170 horsepower is available on all four trims levels of the Terrain. A pushbutton 9-speed automatic transmission smoothly handles all gear changes. Drivers may choose from front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on their needs. All-wheel drive allows drivers in any climate a safe driving experience.

Interior

Drivers will be impressed with all the touches to the interior of the Terrain. With a fold-flat front-passenger seating, drivers can make more room to carry their things, including objects up to eight feet long. Heated front seats and a heated leather steering wheel are available and ensure individual comfort. A SkyScape Sunroof is available.

Exterior

The head and taillamps were updated to reflect the distinctive GMC C lamps. The style was updated to give the Terrain a new front bumper and grille. The appearance overall is bold and premium with its own unique look compared to other vehicles in its category.

Drivers may choose the Elevation Package for the SLE and SLT models to give their Terrains a moody appearance with its black accents. While the AT4 is sporty, the most luxurious model, the Denali, offers a completely different vibe aesthetically.

Infotainment System

Many features are built into the infotainment system and are standard. Drivers may use the built-in Alexa to stream music. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility allow drivers to use their smartphones to stream music and take phone calls and messages. The 8-inch screen for the system is simple, fast, and intuitive and helps drivers easily use the navigation system.

Safety Features

GMC Pro Safety Plus offers all the features drivers need to drive safely and avoid collisions. Features include Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keep Assist. The Vehicle Owner’s Manual explains all the features available, and many features are standard.
