The Chevrolet Corvette has always offered a thrilling ride. The 2021 Corvette representing the second model year of the eighth-generation Corvette, is affectionately called the Corvette C8. With jaw-dropping looks, powerful performance, and lots of new technology features, the new 2021 Chevrolet Corvette will satisfy any motorist who enjoys driving a sophisticated muscle car. Let’s look at the four key features that make the 2021 Corvette Chevrolet’s best year yet.

  1. Exterior Styling

The 2021 Corvette Stingray C8 comes in three trims, either as a two-door coupe or as a two-door convertible. The three trims include the 1LT, 2LT, or 3LT. For 2021, Chevrolet switched to a mid-engine location for the first time in any of Corvette’s history. With the new location of the engine, the exotic body style changed slightly while maintaining the iconic, beloved Corvette style.

This body change, along with a massive powertrain, helps give Chevrolet the license to raise the 2021 Corvette to a supercar level. Look for new colors such as Silver Flare or Red Mist Tintcoat. Add the Stingray R package and get special graphics and matching wheel caps.

  1. Unbelievable Power and Performance

The most notable change in the Corvette C8’s performance is the option to get the Magnetic Ride Control system as a stand-alone offering instead of having to invest in the Z51 package. Another notable change is that Chevrolet no longer offers a manual transmission. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which you can shift manually with the steering wheel paddles, now pairs with the Corvette C8 engine.

All trims of the Corvette have a 6.2-liter V-8 engine on an aluminum block. This engine generates 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. Add the Z51 package, and the engine output increases to 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

  1. New Technology and Interior Features

Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 system features an 8-inch touch screen, and new for 2021, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Carrying over from the 2020 Corvette, Bluetooth, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, HD radio, and navigation come standard.

Because the engine sits midbody, there’s room in the rear trunk to carry golf clubs and luggage, and the front trunk has enough room to carry a small bag. Combined, the Corvette has 12.6 cubic feet of cargo space. All trims have a well-appointed interior with room for two people. The three trims come with leather upholstery, eight-way power-adjustable seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Available luxury touches include heated and cooled seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and a 14-speaker premium Bose sound system.

  1. New Safety Features

New safety features for the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette include Buckle-to-Drive technology. This feature ensures that the driver buckles the seat belt before the automatic transmission will shift into gear and works in conjunction with the Teen Driver technology. Available driver-assist features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, HD rearview camera, and rear parking sensors.
